Supporting investments from different sectors with its expert leasing solutions, AKLease has signed a EUR 50 million loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The facility under this new agreement will be allocated for the realization of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
Commenting on the new loan agreement, AKLease General Manager Eser Okyay said: “As AKLease, we take great pride and joy in continuously expanding our support for environmentally friendly projects. Through our sustainable finance product ECOLease, we have provided approximately TRY 10 billion in financing for green projects to date. By financing renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 536 MW, we have made a significant contribution to our country’s energy production capacity. In order to further grow this figure, we continue to focus our future financing strategies on sustainable energy projects. The new agreement we have signed with the EBRD will also be an important part of this process. As AKLease, we will continue to support our customers’ sustainable investments and Türkiye’s green transformation process, now and in the future.
Oksana Yavorskaya, Deputy Director of Türkiye at EBRD, stated: “Leasing companies serve an important purpose by offering alternatives to companies seeking green investments. We are pleased to expand and diversify green finance opportunities in Türkiye by ensuring that these funds are distributed effectively and beneficially through our long-standing partnership with AKLease.”
