AKLease signs a new loan agreement with AIIB

AKLease signed a new 50-million-dollar loan agreement with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The loan will be used for financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This loan is the first loan AIIB provided to a leasing company.

AKLease, sustaining its leading position for 34 years signed a new loan agreement. AKLease signed a 50 million dollars loan agreement with a maturity of 5 years with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank which provided loan to a leasing company for the first time. The loan will be used for financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

In relation to the loan agreement, AKLease General Manager Çetin Düz stated “Our goal is to contribute to the development of investments and our country’s economy by presenting the advantages of leasing to the investor with right financial modelling. While doing this, we consider the environmental impacts in all investment evaluation. We will use the loan we obtained from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. In this regard, we attach great importance to the loan agreement we entered into with AIIB. I am very proud that the loan has been provided to our company for the first time in the leasing sector, as an indicator of AIIB’s trust in our company and country”.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Policy on the Project-Affected People’s Mechanism (PPM) is available for the lessees that AKLease made using AIIB’s loan. Stakeholders of the lessees can contact AKLease if they have environmental and social (E&S) concerns and in cases of misconduct, or to submit to AIIB through the notification web page here.
